Data Recovery

Tii employs multiple methods of data backup and recovery to mitigate the risk of loss of data. Data protection is accomplished by using mirroring, log shipping, disk backup, and tape backup technologies. Mirroring is a near real-time transfer of data to the backup operations center of all critical data. In addition, Log shipping copies database logs changes that are occurring in the production system) every five minutes. Disk copies called snapshots are done periodically throughout the day to allow for immediate restore capability at the primary site. Tape backups are performed nightly and stored offsite in the event that all the other methods do not work. Each of these methods of protection is tested periodically (at least every other week) to assure operability of both the backup and restore functions.
